Demak is a city of Central Java,Indonesian.Demak comes from the Arabic "DHIMA" which means Swamp in the beginning,Demak land was a swamp area or Mud Land.
Because of the Demak condition which is indeed a former swamp,the land in Demak is unstable.During the dry season the soin in Demak is dry and cracked.However, during the rainy season the soil in Demak will quickly change like mud.

March 28,1503 was the birthday of the city of Demak.as the coronation of Raden Patah as Sultan Bintara (jawa-Bintoro).


THE HISTORY OF THE KINGDOM DEMAK
Demak kingdom is the first and largest Islamic Kingdom on the north coast of Java.Located in Central Java province,25th mil from East Semarang.
The Kingdom Demak was originally only a duchy from the Kingdom of Majapahit.
In 1560 switched to the Kingdom of Pajang at the time of Joko Tingkir.

The historical heritage of the city of Demak is the great Mosque Demak.

1. Adipati Unus
Under the leadership Adipati Unus Kingdom Demak has the insight of the archipelago...which wants to make Demak as a Maritim Kingdom

2. Trenggono
Sultan Trenggono was very instrumental in spreading the religion of Islam in Central Java and East Java.
Under his leadership,he was able to win Sunda Kelapa from Padjajaran.

He died in 1546 when the war took Pasuruan,after Sultan Prawoto succeeded as King of Demak.While Sunan Kudus as the main leader in the war conquered Majapahit.
During the reign of the Kingdom there had been a rebellion by Adipati Pajang.
And what was very well known was during the war againts Sutawijaya an adopted son of Joko Tingkir.
In the war Adipati Aryo Penangsang possed away which also ended the Kingdom of Pajang.
